It is highly recommended that regular maintenance of synthetic turf will help ensure longevity and a clean environment for the synthetic surface.
There are various names for Synthetic turf, like astro turf, synthetic grass, fake grass.
All of the above names are the same product, there are differences in the product like length, density, infill and application.
Removing debris like leaves, garden bark, animal by-products immediately.
It is suggested to broom or rake the surface once a week, to ensure the turf is maintained in an upright position to allow sunlight and air to penetrate into the turf.
Once a month if it has not rained, give the turf a light watering to wash the turf and allow any debris left from the broom or rake will be broken down and ensure the drainage in the subsurface is operating well.
It is highly recommended to have the surface professionally cleaned / maintained annually at a minimum, ultimately it depends on a few facts like:
- Hours of use each week
- Environmental, what other factors you need to consider:
- Animals
- Deciduous trees and plants
- Poor drainage
- Work sites near by increasing air pollution
- Activity type like: education, sport, backyard etc
All of the above will increase the requirement for regular maintenance, we offer quarterly, half yearly and annual service options.
Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or solvents, as they can damage the turf fibers. Stick to mild detergents and natural cleaning solutions to maintain the integrity of your synthetic grass.
